Science Technician since 1986. Christine has seen many technicians and teachers come and go, and has remained a dedicated member of the science department.

Doug White

Assistant Groundsman since 1986. School is grateful for the upkeep of the cricket wicket over the years, and for the car park attendant duties.

Ann Walker

Finance Office since 1999. Promoted from Admin Assistant to Assistant Finance Officer 5 years ago. Took part in Culture Vultures and School Camp.

Colin Bowman

Has supported Mr. Emsley in the English department, as well as running Culture Vultures and gong on School Camp.

Steve Emsley

Pupil at Batley Grammar School 1960 to 1967. Started as an English Teacher at BGS in 1972 until 1979.  He returned as Head of English in 1983 and served 25 years. Mr. Emsley wrote and directed school productions, and edited the school magazine.

Gordon Goldthorpe

Pupil at Batley Grammar School 1954 to 1962. Came to BGS as Head of Music in 1971. Has served under 4 Headteachers, and provided piano in assembly for many years.
