Batley Grammar School Year 11 students have once again achieved excellent GCSE results with students passing 100% of all full course subjects and 99.5% of all subjects taken.  72% of these were the top A* to B grades with 32% at A or A*.
Top of the class this year was David Hall who achieved 9A* and 2A grades.  Other pupils gaining at least seven A/A* grades were  Alexander Craig,  Khaleel Loonat,  Aarif Mamaniat,  Aamir Mayet,  Zoe Minnett, Suleman Variava, Simone Walters and Maxwell Wilkinson.

“These are splendid results reflecting the dedication and hard work by both our staff and students.  I have no doubt that when we receive the information to analyse the true ‘value added’ of these results that it will be second to none. Such a positive outcome confirms the advantage of being in a nurturing educational environment which caters for the needs of each individual student. Of course exam results are only half the picture and this academic success has also been matched by equally good performances out of the classroom. These students regularly make the most of all the opportunities on offer here at Batley Grammar School. This might typically include being a member of the Combined Cadet Force and undertaking  the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme or enthusiastically participating in the vast array of extra curricular activities alongside the volunteering, enterprise and fund raising projects on offer. We certainly pride ourselves in helping to create confident, rounded individuals and enriched young citizens that will contribute to the community”.
Brigid Tullie, Head of Batley Grammar School August 2010
