|
Batley Grammar School Year 11 students have once again achieved excellent GCSE results with students passing 99.7% of all subjects taken, 96% of which were A* to C grades with 80% A* to B and 46% A or A* grades.
Top of the class this year was Kaiya Stone who achieved 8A* and 4A grades, and Heather Jameson with 8A* and 2A grades. Other pupils gaining at least seven A/A* grades were Eleanor Firth, Aruche Hamid, Zac McKeown, Nicole Mortimer, Megan Turnpenney and Waqar Saghir.
"These are splendid results reflecting the dedication and hard work by our staff and students. I have no doubt that when we receive the information to analyse the true ‘value added’ that these results will be second to none. It just confirms the advantage of being in a nurturing educational environment which caters for the needs of each individual student."
Brigid Tullie, Head of Batley Grammar School August 2009
