Close attention and individual care are
strong features of the Sixth Form at Batley Grammar School. The Sixth
Form is small enough for all staff and students to know each other
well. The Head of Sixth Form has overall responsibility for the
welfare of the Sixth Form students, with Sixth Form Tutors having no
more than twelve students in their care. Personal guidance, including
career guidance, happens more easily when all staff are familiar with
the needs of our students.
Sixth Form students are also involved
closely with the pastoral welfare of younger pupils, as school
officers and prefects and as monitors for younger forms in Key Stage
3. Sixth Form students play a key role in supporting the pupils of
our Junior School, Priestley House, assisting in lessons and in
extra-curricular activities.
