Batley Grammar School celebrates Oxbridge success

Batley Grammar School’s Year 13 students have, between them, achieved some excellent  A level and AS results with students passing over 88% of all subjects taken and 53% of entries being grade C and above.

The top performers of the year included School Captain, Kaiya Stone (3A, 1B) who is heading for St Hilda’s, Oxford to study Classics, Yi Fan Zhang (2A* 1A 2B) going to Imperial College, London to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Qian Cheng (2A*, 1B, 1C) who is also heading for Imperial College, London to study Mathematics with Statistics for Finance.

Mrs Tullie, Head of Batley Grammar School, commented
“We are very pleased with the achievements of our students. In this particular year group we lost a large number of students at the end of Year 11 who, understandably, were unable to stay on to complete their education in the Sixth Form.
The students in this particularly small year group came from diverse backgrounds and the grades they achieved reflect their level of commitment and determination and the support and encouragement they have received from our dedicated team of staff.
Of course, exam results are only half the story, we pride ourselves in helping to create rounded individuals and enriched young citizens that will contribute to the community. Seeking to nurture such qualities will remain one of the foci for the school as a Free School”.
