GCSE Results 2019
Once again we are delighted with the achievements of our Year 11 students and congratulate them on some excellent GCSE results.
These results reflect the dedication and hard work by both staff and students alike and, as our Year 11 students leave us, we wish them well in the next stage of their education. There were many exceedingly happy students leaving us having collected their results this morning, a number of whom had received the top grade 9 in a range of subjects, knowing that they had secured the grades to make the transition to the next stage in their education.
The top performing students this year in terms of attaining the top grades (9,8 and 7) in a range of subjects were: A Rawcliffe ( 4 grade 9’s, 2 grade 8’s, 3 grade 7’s); L Newby (3 grade 9’s,1 grade 8, 1 grade 7); A Speight (1 grade 9’s, 4 grade 8’s, 4 grade 7’s);N Cameron (1 grade 9, 1 grade 8, 3 grade 7’s); M Zegocki (1 grade 9, 1 grade 8, 2 grade 7’s) A Hussain (1 grade 9, 1 grade 8 an d 3 grade 7’s)
Students who made significant progress compared to others include; H Gulamhussein, M Ibrar, M Kotia and T Michaels.
We always say that exam results are always only part of the picture and this academic success has also been matched by equally good performances outside of the classroom. We are particularly proud of M Navsarkar who has overcome a range of medical issues and made a significant positive contribution to the school. Our students regularly make the most of all the opportunities on offer here at Batley Grammar School. This might typically include being a member of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, or enthusiastically participating in the vast array of extra curricular activities alongside the volunteering, enterprise and fund raising projects on offer; no mean feat alongside studying for GCSE exams.
We pride ourselves in helping to create confident, rounded individuals and enriched young citizens that will contribute to the community.
