Combined Cadet Force (CCF)
We offer our young people the opportunity to be part of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), which includes both the Army and Royal Air Force. During Year 8, learners are provided with information about CCF and then, from Year 9, they have the opportunity to join.
CCF is an important part of learner enrichment here and offers our young people a broad range of challenging, exciting and adventurous, as well as educational, activities working with school staff and the Ministry of Defence. Its aim is to aid the development of personal responsibility, leadership and self-discipline.
Army - CCF
Promotes responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness and a sense of service to the community and includes activities such as; drill, fieldcraft, first aid and adventure training.
Joining the CCF provides a wonderful and unique opportunity to take part in exciting Army-themed training activities and events. These focus on building courage, self-discipline, respect for others, integrity, loyalty and commitment. As well as developing effective communication skills, confidence, and a sense of pride and achievement.
Royal Air Force - CCF
Promotes and encourages a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force, provides training which can be applied to both the Services and civilian life, encourages the spirit of adventure and develops qualities of leadership and good citizenship. Membership of the CCF is exciting, rewarding and above all fun. You'll discover skills you never knew you had, do things and visit places you never thought you would, and meet lots of like-minded people who will become your team-mates and friends. You'll also have the opportunity to challenge yourself with adventurous training, be selected to represent your country or school on the International Air Cadet Exchange programme, or develop your potential on the Air Cadet Leadership Course.
