Pastoral Care
We foster mutual care and respect, and this is genuinely possible in a school of our size, where everyone is well-known and no-one fades into the background.
The Form Tutor has the central role in our pastoral structure, being in daily contact with the form, and being the first point of contact for the student and parents/carers.
The Year Leader is the next point of contact for students and parents/carers. The duties of the Year Leader are to support the team in the pastoral and personal guidance of the students, the welfare of the year group, and the advice given to students. The Progress Leaders liaise with Form Tutors and the Assistant Head (responsible for student culture) on pastoral matters.
All contact information can be found below.
Communication between school and home is important, and the student planner is an excellent way to keep the lines open. Staff and parents/carers are encouraged to write short notes in the planner so as to keep each other well informed. Students are encouraged to use the planner regularly to help they stay organised.
One of the most important links between school and home are the Parent/Carer Evenings, which take place throughout the year. Parents/carers are also kept informed of student progress via formal reports and a monitoring process. Our door is always open for both parents/carers and students.
